Celebrating Holistic Therapy Day: A Whole-Person Approach to Health and Wellbeing

26 July is Holistic Therapy Day, a time to recognise and celebrate the many therapies that support health, wellbeing and quality of life through a whole-person approach.

As we count down to Holistic Therapy Day, it’s the perfect opportunity to reflect on the importance of caring for ourselves—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. Holistic therapies acknowledge that our bodies, minds and lifestyles are interconnected, and that true wellbeing comes from achieving balance across all aspects of our lives.

In today’s busy world, many people experience stress, muscular tension, reduced mobility, fatigue and emotional overwhelm. Often, these challenges don’t occur in isolation. They can affect how we move, how we feel and how we engage with everyday life.

This is where holistic therapies can play an important role.

Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, holistic practitioners seek to understand the individual as a whole. By considering factors such as posture, movement, lifestyle, stress levels and overall wellbeing, therapies can be tailored to support each person’s unique needs and encourage the body’s natural ability to restore balance.

At Every Body’s Better, I use the Integrated Structural Balance Method which includes the Emmett Technique, Scar Therapy, Energetic Structural Balance and Red Light/Near Infra-red therapy to help clients improve comfort, movement and wellbeing.

The Emmett Technique is a gentle, hands-on therapy that uses light finger pressure on specific points of the body. These subtle inputs can help release muscular tension, improve movement, support posture and encourage deep relaxation. Clients are often surprised by how gentle the technique feels and how quickly they notice positive changes.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping people reconnect with their bodies and regain confidence in movement. Whether someone is experiencing persistent discomfort, recovering from injury, managing stress, or simply looking to improve their quality of life, holistic therapies can provide valuable support.

Holistic Therapy Day also reminds us of the importance of self-care. Looking after our wellbeing doesn’t always require dramatic changes. Sometimes the most meaningful improvements come from simple daily habits:

• Taking time to pause and breathe deeply
• Drinking enough water
• Moving regularly and mindfully
• Prioritising rest and relaxation
• Seeking support when our bodies need it

Small actions, repeated consistently, can make a significant difference to how we feel.

As we celebrate Holistic Therapy Day on 26 July, I encourage you to take a moment to check in with yourself.

How is your body feeling today?

Are there areas of tension, discomfort or stress that you’ve been ignoring?

What small step could you take this week to support your health and wellbeing?

By nurturing the whole person, holistic therapies help create the foundation for healthier movement, greater comfort and improved quality of life.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Every Body’s Better and trusted me to be part of your wellbeing journey.

Restore balance. Support healing. Move with ease.
